Oceanco superyacht DAR has won Yacht of the Year at the World Yachts Trophies 2018, which took place in Cannes at the Carlton Hotel following the Cannes Yachting Festival.
The award was received by the Oceanco team along with M/Y DAR Captain Klaudio Marcelic and exterior designer Luiz de Basto.
Superyacht DAR was selected thanks to her impressive exterior styling and interiors from Nuvolari Lenard, coupled with ground-breaking technological advances in glass technology which make her the first yacht built in the Netherlands to receive official Lloyd’s Register Integrated Bridge System (IBS) notation and designation.
Despite her sizeable volume, the superstructure has a lightweight characteristic and the hull profile remains sleek and sporty, lending a dynamic appearance to this modern superyacht. The interior was designed in tandem with the exterior for a flowing appearance between indoor/outdoor living areas, with an emphasis placed on contemporary styling and a variety of materials for a multi-textured environment.
The superstructure is finished entirely in reflective glass for sweeping views to port, aft and starboard from the interior. In addition, her design provides an abundance of outdoor living space across her decks for a close connection to nature.
