The new 28.64m Southern Wind 94 sailing yacht is under construction at South Africa’s Southern Wind Shipyard, with the intention of launching her late this summer. The SW 94’s hull shape and sail plan was designed by Reichel_Pugh while the general concept, interior and exterior styling was designed by Nauta_Design.
Following the successes of the 78ft sailing yacht, also designed by Reichel Pugh and Nauta Design, Southern Wind will launch a new 94ft range of cruiser / racer providing even better performances.
The new SW94 sailing yacht has been developed to give optimal racing results, the yachts design is also focused on comfort. The engineering and layout are geared toward safety in all weather conditions when cruising while the hull lines and the sail plan designed by Reichel Pugh are optimised for the IMA (International Maxi Association) cruiser / racer category.
The superyachts weight has been kept to an absolute minimum by using a carbon sandwich hull and infusion technique. The internal furnishings will also be made of carbon with a nomex core.
