Set to run at the ONE°15 Marina Club in Sentosa Cove from April 18 to 21, this year’s Singapore Yacht Show will provide visitors with access to some of the top players in Asia’s marine sector. Two experts in the Asian market, who will be once again attending the 2013 edition of the event, are logistics and yacht transport provider Sevenstar, as well as leading Asian brokerage house, Simpson Marine.
“2013 will be the third year that Simpson Marine has exhibited at the Singapore Yacht Show, and each year we’ve been impressed with the organisation and the quality of the visitors,” says Paul Whelan, General Manager at Simpson Marine.
Opening up Asia
With yachting growing in popularity in Asia, and its beautiful coastlines an increasingly desirable cruising destination for owners and charterers, access to the region has never been more important.
Offering a wide transportation network with plenty of route options, Sevenstar plays a crucial role in opening up Asia to the yachting world. As the world’s leading provider of lift-on, lift-off ship transport, Sevenstar’s network reaches across the Caribbean, South America, the Mediterranean and through to Singapore, Phuket and Hong Kong.
With yacht transportation services a popular method of transferring a vessel to the Asia Pacific region, Sevenstar’s commitment to growing their regional network is key to the growth of yachting in the area over the coming years.
“Sevenstar is not a newcomer to Asia but the company’s presence is certainly growing, with two new agencies in Singapore and Phuket and an increasing number of Mediterranean and USA-based yachts travelling to the exotic waters of the east,” said Jan Maarten Boissevain, Middle and Far East line manager for Sevenstar.
There is no company better placed to discuss transportation of yachts in and out of Asia, or indeed around the world, and Sevenstar welcomes all enquiries about transporting yachts of all sizes in, out of, and around the region.
A yacht for every purpose
Having provided brokerage and yacht services across Asia since 1984, Simpson Marine are an expert in the Asian yachting market and are helping to drive popularity of yachting in the region.
With offices throughout Asia, they offer a carefully selected range of both new and pre-owned yachts from many of the world’s biggest yachting brands, including Azimut, Lagoon and Beneteau. Simpson Marine’s goal is to cater to every customer and they will have a wide choice of yachts on display at the Show, from day boats to superyachts. A dedicated hospitality pontoon will offer direct access to their exhibiting fleet.
Key exhibits include a stunning collection of mid to large yachts from leading Italian yard Azimut-Benetti, together with a number of catamarans from the industry-leading builder Lagoon, including the flagship Lagoon 620. Also on show will be two of the latest Beneteau sailing models: the Oceanis 41 and the Sense 43.
Joining them, and a particular highlight in Simpson Marine’s Show fleet, is the Beneteau Flyer 650 model, which is part of the innovative Beneteau motor yacht range. Having turned their design and technologcial expertise to the power boat market, the motor yacht range from Beneteau is being very well received by the market.
“Simpson Marine is proud to have been appointed the exclusive Asian dealer and will be previewing the Beneteau Flyer 650 , which is the perfect boat for enjoying Singapore waters with family and friends,” says Paul Whelan.
