The resurgence in luxury lifestyle was clearly evident as the third installment of Boat Asia sailed to a successful close at Marina at Keppel Bay yesterday.
Achieving a record number of boat sales, dealers from Fairline, Horizon, Integrity, La Marca, Grandbanks, Rinker, Riviera and Swan saw themselves taking orders for more than 10 boats worth over $20 million and gathering over $30 million of sales interest. Despite scorching afternoons and overcast evenings, the event attracted over 10,000 visitors over the duration of the four-day event. Boat Asia 2010 saw a huge upsurge of potential boat buyers amongst boating enthusiasts and lifestyle aficionados throng the four day event. Featuring more than 130 exhibitors from the high-end property, boating, marine equipment and luxury lifestyle sectors, visitors were delighted with the wide array of exciting showcases both on-land and on-water.
This year’s show saw the unveiling of several yachting masterpieces including the sporty Sunsail 384, elegant Oyster 56 and luxurious Fairline 48. Asia’s first production solar boat, the Horizon SunCat 23 also made its Asian debut. Visitors also enjoyed the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get up close and personal with three magnificent Memory, Vega, Cariad and Serendipity.

Keeping in line with the luxury lifestyle theme, Boat Asia 2010 saw the first-ever Lifestyle Gallery which hosted top names in luxury lifestyle including Davidoff, Gaggenau, Grey Goose, Leica, Metakaos, Movenpick, Nespresso, Royal Selangor and Sony. Aside from Gaggenau’s revolutionary floating kitchen, both Xtra and Franck Muller also showcased their Marseille and Mariner Collections respectively, while La Perla delighted visitors with its highly anticipated fashion show featuring the exquisite Beachwear Collection S/S 2010. Car enthusiasts also took the opportunity to test drive seven Audi Quattro models and view three new engine variants – the TTRS 2.5 TFSI Quattro manual, Q7 3.0 TDI Quattro tiptronic and A6 2.8 FSI Quattro tiptronic.
Attended by dignitaries, members of the boating industry, sponsors and invited guests, Boat Asia’s Charity Gala, held at Amara Sanctuary Resort on 15 April, raised $122,000 for The Straits Times School Pocket and the newly set-up The Business Times Budding Artists Fund. A portion of sales from the Lifestyle Gallery was also donated to these designated charities.

Marina at Keppel Bay

Keppel unveils spectacular seafront homes in architect Daniel Libeskind’s first Asian residential show piece
Reflections at Keppel Bay presents the new face to world-class waterfront living with its stunning architecture by master architect Daniel Libeskind.
