Spring 2013 has been a very busy period for the Derecktor New York yard, with commissioning and launching winter storage vessels as well as a variety of other work.
Engineering is started on the recently signed new construction project for The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, Connecticut, and another 40×20′ steel floating dock is being constructed in the main hall.
The relationship continues with Oakliff Sailing – their Farr 47 raceboat was recently delivered by truck from Michigan and was commissioned and launched in 3 days flat!
Derecktor continues to be a first choice for vessels in need of emergency service, with their speciality fabrication and alignment skills. On-going projects include a Riva 44 which grounded, sustaining significant structural damage and the complete destruction of the underwater running gear. The vessel will be restored and back in service in 30 days from arrival to launching. Similar repairs were made to a Vicem 64 earlier in the year.
A Christensen 150 yacht is also in the yard for emergency repairs – Derecktor is a home-away-from-home for megayachts in need of service in the Northeast.
