This week saw Airship, the superyacht communications expert, activate three new channels on yachts. Ensuring Airship clients’ sport viewing continues seamlessly for the rest of the summer, the change was made this week in response to a shift in channel distribution rights.
BT Sport launched two new channels while also taking over the commercial rights for the distribution of ESPN on SKY. Popular with Airship clients, ESPN has been removed from the Airship SKY Yacht Package and can be quickly activated through a new contract, ensuring yacht guests’ access to viewing is unimpeded.
BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN are available through the UK and BT Commercial department and available to yachts with an agreement covering the channels.
With SKY Commercial no longer holding the rights to ESPN, BT has increased its sport offering to cover more Premiership League games, as well as Premiership Rugby and Moto GP, among others. Airship’s years of experience with satellite TV providers has put the company in a strong position to tailor yacht satellite TV packages which seamlessly fit the owner’s lifestyle. “We are committed to always providing the best yacht satellite television packages on the market,” said Alan Bernardi, Director of Airship. “We are delighted to be able to expand our offering with these new channels.”
Across the Mediterranean and Caribbean, Airship provides range of yacht satellite TV services from UK headquarters. Airship’s packages can also include SKY ITALIA, RTVi, DIRECTV USA and DIRECTV Caribbean, with a team dedicated to customising viewing packages created to suit individual owner preference.
