Activities and amenities for the visitors to the 43rd Newport International Boat Show have been announced by Newport Exhibition Group; the owners and producers of this important event.
The largest boat show in New England and the ‘kick off’ to the Fall boat show season, the Newport International Boat Show provides visitors from around the world a venue to see the latest boats and product offerings from hundreds of manufacturers and dealers, including dozens debuting for the first time in the United States. Set along America’s Cup Avenue in historic, downtown Newport, the show also offers a wealth of education and fun activities for boating enthusiasts of all ages and experience.
Discover Boating’s Hands On Skills Training (HOST) offers a variety of daily sail and powerboat on-the-water training classes by USCG Licensed Captains.
Sail America’s Discover Sailing program will provide daily introduction to the Sailing lifestyle.
Lee Chesneau will once again host a one-day course on understanding marine weather.
Sailing Heals, the Show’s charitable partner, will offer a Sunday evening Sunset Cruise on the 72’ Schooner, sailing yacht Madeleine, as well as opportunities for individuals whose lives have been impacted by an event such as cancer to participate in some sailing respite on the vessel throughout the show.
Cruising Outpost will host its 3rd annual Cruisers Party. Open to all who are inside the show gates on Saturday at 6:00 PM, the party will feature music by Eric Stone and offer free pizza and beer while it lasts.
The Authors Corner will feature book signings by Michael Cosgrove and Judy Silvia who capture the beauty of sailing in their writings.
The lovely and talented Sailor Donna will entertain children with singing, face painting and balloon art on the weekend.
Visitors on Thursday will have the opportunity to cast their vote for the best new boat making its US debut in the Newport for New Products People’s Choice Award. One voter will be selected at random to win an iPad with a $50 credit to the online Apple Store.
The Newport International Boat Show features two concession areas – the Sunset Lounge and The Point Bar & Grill both offer delicious New England favorites from comfort food to healthy options.

Expected to draw tens of thousands to historic Newport, the 43rd annual Newport International Boat Show will take place September 12-15, 2013 on the Newport Waterfront along America’s Cup Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island. One of the largest in-water boat shows in the country, the event will host nearly 750 exhibitors from around the world with an exceptional assortment of boats of every type and style from 15 to 85 feet, and a wide variety of accessories, equipment, electronics, gear and services for boaters. On Friday only, visitors with a valid Military or Newport County Resident ID receive half price admission.
The Newport International Boat Show covers over 13 acres along the Newport Waterfront. Low cost, off-site parking at Easton’s Beach is available with handicap-accessible shuttle service running daily from 8am-8pm.
