Tukish shipyard Dunya Yachts spanning over 30,000 m² in Tuzla in Istanbul, is known for their superyacht construction and refit using the latest available technology. Their facilities are based in the cosmopolitan city of Istanbul close to the airport and the largest marina. Dunya have currently under construction two 72 metre vessels known for their great potential as privately owned yachts as well as charter yachts. One of them is the DY003 Red Square superyacht and the other one is the Warrior DY006 yacht.
Dunya Yachts’ mission is to deliver absolute client satisfaction by completing projects on time, within budget and to the highest standard possible. This is scrupulously achieved by combining detailed design and solid engineering with extensive planning. Dunya’s vision is to become a world leader in super yacht construction in ten years time.
The company is the only shipyard in Turkey with covered, climate controlled dry-dock and can accommodate yachts up to 80 metres in length. 1,600 m² of modern offices give their technical and administrative staff a comfortable and efficient workspace.
Their refit facility includes a 5,000 ton floating dock and 4,500 m² climate controlled sheds. Dunya Yachts undertake any kind of refit, repair and maintenance at very competitive rates. They have a highly trained workforce with specialist skills in mechanical and electrical engineering and furniture production. Their experienced team of painters is certified by the world’s leading coating systems including Awlgrip.
Amels Motoryacht Deja Too is the first major refit that the company was commissioned for. The refit commenced in 2008 and was very successfully completed in 2009. Another important refit is that of the 59 metre Lurssen charter yacht Capri competed in 2010.
Future projects at the shipyard include a construction of a 65 metre DY-P65 superyacht, designed with consideration given to the increasing shortage of fossil fuel in the coming years and the growing market for environmentally advanced fuel-efficient yachts and systems. She will be constructed using eco-sensitive materials and fuel-efficient systems, featuring true combination of green credentials, luxury and very impressive performance.
88 metre DY-P88 BLADE is another motoryacht projected to be constructed at Dunya Yachts. She is designed by Jen Freikvokh and combines unprecedented space and state-of-the-art systems into a modern design statement of power and style.
As previously mentioned, the DY003 superyacht Red Square is one of the vessels currently being worked on at the Dunya premises. She is the largest yacht up to date ever built in Turkey and her launch is projected for 2011.
