A very successful 3rd China (Macau) International Yacht Import & Export Fair

This year’s 3rd edition of China (Macau) International Yacht Import & Export Fair (Macau Yacht Fair) was a great success. The event closed its doors at 20:00 on November 3, 2013.

The expo consists of Dry Show and Water Show, respectively held in Hall D of the Golden Pavilion Convention Center that covers about 15,000 square meters and Macau Green Island Yacht Club which has 10-plus yacht berths. Over 40 famous yacht brands of over 20 countries, such as Sunseeker, Starcraft, Sunbird, Poly Marquis, made their appearance in Macau, displaying yachts of varied sizes ranging from 10 to 135 feet and upgrading the event with a bigger scale of 25% over that of the previous year.

Centering on the theme of “Grand Gathering in Haojiang”, Macau Yacht Fair kicked off on a parallel timeline with the 3rd China (Macau) International Auto Exposition and the 2nd Macau Business Jet Exhibition, which altogether drew on 60,000 visits. Visitors included 4,000 (6.7%) high-quality professionals and buyers, approximately half of whom came from China’s Hong Kong, Macau and overseas regions. High-end customers mainly came from finance group, real estate group, bank VIPs, real estate developers, and exclusive club members. Among all visitors, 60% came from Macau, 24.15% from China’s Hong Kong and other foreign places, and the rest 15.85% from other regions of China.

As a high-end top show targeting at the privileged few, Macau Yacht Fair really steps up to visitor experience. A series of events, Bikini Show, Luxury Red Wine Tasting, Luxurious Yacht Cruising, Thanks Party for Grand Gathering in Haojiang, Lucky Draw for Precious Metal, etc. created comfortable and magnificent atmosphere together with intense liveness. Aside from experiencing life enjoyment with yacht, guests reaped luck and happiness.

Overall, this year saw great visitor participation at the expo and favorable responses from them. Over 20 orders for Delta Powerboats, Sea Ray andPoly Marquis were signed on spot, contributing to about RMB 80 million sales, while transaction intention wasestimated to involve about RMB 100 million.

A rough count showed that over 70 media reported the expowith some 300 stories. Such media included overseas professional media like IBI News, Boat International, Nautica and domestic professional media like Yacht, Global Luxury Properties, China Yachting, CNSS, Yachter123, Boat Exclusive, The Discerning Lifestyle,Top Club, Jyacht, Ytshe, Yacht Space, Fishing TV, which served as an expansionof Macau Yacht Expo’s influence. Meanwhile, famous media in Hong Kongand Macau, such as Macao Daily News, Macau Cable TV and Macau Business,conducted comprehensive follow-up reports of this year’s Macau Yacht Expo.

The Macau Yacht Fair wouldn’t be a success without the strong support of Macao SAR government and the society and the active participation ofexhibitors and media. It also acted to drive the targets of building Macau as a world tourism and relaxation destination, developing exposition economy and promoting the yacht industry.
