Camper & Nicholsons Marinas is expected to extend its existing network of luxury yacht marinas with the creation of ‘The 1782 Club’. Set to be launched next month, this new initiative will see an exclusive group of independently owned and operated marinas collaborate with the world’s oldest and most prominent yachting brand, to form a strategic chain of high-end facilities throughout popular and emerging yachting regions worldwide.
1782 Club member marinas will benefit from Camper & Nicholsons’ global marketing reach and brand equity, through participation in a communications programme that targets all segments of the yachting market. The initiative will serve to increase awareness of member marinas, deliver incremental new berthing business, and provide preferred access to Camper & Nicholsons’ tailored services, strategic partnerships, and networking activities.
Kurt Fraser, Sales & Marketing Director for C&N Marinas, said, “The 1782 Club is to become the first branded, worldwide marina club, offering our discerning clientele a much wider selection of berthing options and privileges, with each 1782 Club member marina sharing the same high quality of facilities and service standards, along with Camper & Nicholsons’ existing marinas.”
Porto Montenegro, the Mediterranean’s luxury yacht homeport and marina village, has signed on as the programme’s founding member, with additional members to be announced early in 2014. Oliver Corlette, Managing Director of Porto Montenegro, added, “As a leading luxury marina in the Adriatic, Porto Montenegro is happy to become the first member of the 1782 Club, Camper & Nicholsons Marinas’ pioneering platform that supports independent marinas with occupancy growth, berth and real estate sales.”
While Camper & Nicholsons’ initial priority is on selective growth of marina membership in the Caribbean and Mediterranean, prospective marina members in the Middle East, Indian Ocean, Southeast Asia and the Americas have already expressed serious interest in joining the network. The 1782 Club will soon expand to include a worldwide loyalty and privileges programme for yacht owners, captains and crew. The advantages of this are anticipated to exceed the benefits of any regional scheme available on the market today.
Fraser went on to say, “On one hand, creation of the 1782 Club is about a desire to partner with proudly independent marinas, each of which is passionate about promoting their respective destinations, facilities, lifestyle amenities and exacting service standards. On the other, it is about helping our discerning yachting clientele seek out exceptional new experiences, in remarkable destinations, coupled with a seamless, high standard of service.”
Camper & Nicholsons’ existing marinas will actively participate in cross promotional activities alongside 1782 Club members to enable yachts to cruise between them, with a consistently high level of service. This will include the newly developed Limassol Marina in Cyprus, Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi, Porto San Rocco in Italy, as well as C&N owned facilites – Grand Harbour Marina in Malta, Cesme Marina in Turkey, and Port Louis Marina in Grenada.
