MCM is proud to announce that two of its 2013 launches – for which it acted as owner’s construction manager – received three Neptune trophies at the 2014 World Superyacht Awards: motor yacht CaryAli, as well as sailing yacht Inukshuk. This great news follows the yachts’ success at the ShowBoats Design Awards in February 2014.
Expedition yacht CaryAli is Winner of the Displacement Motor Yacht Award (of below 500GT). The 39-metre was designed by Rene Van Der Velden and sports a CariAli Designs & Redman Whiteley Dixon interior.
MCM’s Peter Wilson oversaw CaryAli yacht’s construction at Alloy Yachts, acting on behalf of her owner.
Superyacht Inukshuk is Winner of the Sailing Yacht Award (30-39.99m) as well as Sailing Yacht of the Year. The 32.6-metre sloop was designed by Frers and sports a beautiful interior by Adam Lay Studio.
MCM’s Nigel Ingram acted for the owner during Inukshuk yacht’s construction at Baltic Yachts.
Peter Wilson comments on superyacht CaryAli: “One of the biggest challenges with the design and development of CaryAli was the need to develop a methodological approach in order to weigh up each and every decision to protect her Expedition Yacht DNA including, naturally, safety, sea-kindliness, range and explorer aesthetics, whilst additionally ensuring that she encompassed the luxury, sophistication and amenities one expects on board today’s superyachts. Congratulations are due to René Van der Velden for this handsome design, the owner and RWD for her magnificent interior, Alloy yachts for their interpretation and execution of this very special vessel – and to the owners for their unwavering commitment and vision throughout the design and construction process. We are very proud of our role in her success.”
Nigel Ingram says of luxury yacht Inukshuk: “The realization of the very successful performance cruiser Inukshuk was made possible in the first place by a totally committed and involved owner; working first with Germàn Frers on the exterior layout, particularly the main cockpit and aft ‘dance floor’, and then with Adam Lay to develop the extraordinary interior design inspired by the Owner’s country home and surroundings. The project was always going to be a challenge to execute but in the end the team at Baltic Yachts with their build quality, carbon-fibre expertise and holistic approach to the project, became the obvious choice as builder. We believe that the success of the completed project speaks for itself and are proud to have played a part in the production of this extraordinary yacht.”
