June 2014 saw the bespoke Dutch hydraulic manufacturer, Cramm Yachting Systems, celebrate 60 years of businesses. Well known as the world leader in the construction of superyacht hydraulic systems, Cramm is the supplier of choice for all leading shipyards. Over the years, the company has worked on hundreds of outstanding vessels, including the 134m mega yacht Serene, the 68m superyacht Global (ex Kismet), the 88m charter yacht Maltese Falcon, as well as the 109m luxury yacht Octopus.
“All of the Cramm team is extremely proud of this milestone anniversary and of our achievements,” said Rob Knoop, Director at Cramm Yachting Systems. “We are humbled by the countless hours of work put in by those before us, and are looking forward to the future and what the next sixty years hold.”
Founded in 1954 the company began as a manufacturer of diesel engines for mainly land-based clients. When these diesel engines became too complicated for general mechanics to service, Cramm saw the opportunity to expand by providing repairs and maintenance. This positive attitude paved the way for Cramm’s renowned full-service solution, whereby they take the project from the initial consultation to the design table right through to the installation and after sale service, making the process seamless and easy for the client.
Having moved into the growing marine hydraulic industry in the 1970s, Cramm has now been part of that sector for 40 years, picking up decades of experience and garnering a strong international reputation. The company’s strength lies in their three main qualities: full collaboration on projects; future-thinking design; and guaranteed quality.
Cramm offers clients the most straightforward contact process by having one point of contact right from the start, ensuring clear and personal communication. Once a project has been delivered, the knowledgeable after sales service team handle any problems encountered with the products.
All Cramm products come with a five-year guarantee. High quality materials are used in the construction and are assembled by experienced and meticulous labourers. These quality products can be relied on for efficient and trouble-free service for years to come.
Cramm doesn’t just stop with making quality products. Research and development is at the heart of all that they do. While always delivering top quality products, they are constantly improving their goods using the latest technologies. Being at the forefront of the hydraulics industry is not enough – Cramm wants to stay there.
The aesthetically pleasing products are discreet and minimal, yet powerfully effective. Products like cranes, passerelles, ladders and doors can be custom built to suit clients’ needs and in most cases, colours and styles can be matched to provide synchronicity across the vessel.
The manufacturer isn’t slowing down in its old age, and says it’s pleased and grateful to be celebrating such an impressive anniversary.
