Amsterdam RAI has unveiled the exciting and detailed program of the upcoming Symposium on Yacht Design and Yacht Construction.  Held every other year during the annual Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS), this year’s symposium is being organized by the HISWA Holland Marine industry, and will take place on November 17 and 18. The length of the event has been extended due to the exceptional content of the presentations, making the symposium a must-attend event for yacht builders, engineers, designers, naval architects, as well as R&D personnel.

The program of the Symposium on Yacht Design and Yacht Construction will cater for a wide range of disciplines as speakers highlight the very latest findings on this highly specialized field. Professor Hans Hopman, head of the Ship Design, Production and Operations section at Delft University of Technology and chairman of the symposium, explains why the program covers such a wide range of disciplines. “We are focusing on the areas which are keeping today’s yacht designers, builders and scientists busy. Moreover, we extend this emphasis across the motor and sailing superyacht sectors, ensuring that developments in smaller yachts also receive the attention they deserve.”

HISWA Symposium on Yacht Design and Yacht Construction

The HISWA Symposium on Yacht Design and Yacht Construction has a rich history of exploring such topics and this year will be the 23rd edition. It is an initiative of the HISWA Holland Marine Industry, Delft University of Technology and Amsterdam RAI, with support from MARIN, Damen Shipyards, Royal Huisman Shipyard and Feadship.

METS

METS is the world’s largest trade exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine leisure industry. It is organized by Amsterdam RAI in association with ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations). For the first time this year the event will open its doors at 9.00 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. The show’s target groups are yacht builders, naval architects, repair yards, distributors, dealers, wholesalers, captains, marina operators and equipment manufacturers from around the world. Three dedicated specialist pavilions are part of METS: the SuperYacht Pavilion, the Marina & Yard Pavilion and the Construction Material Pavilion.
