The 2015 edition of the ShowBoats Design Awards will be held on Monday, 23rd February, 2015 in Kitzbühel, Austria, as announced by Boat International Media. Nominations are now open for the prestigious prize giving which will once again take place in the spectacular Tyrollean Alps as part of the Superyacht Design Symposium’s captivating programme for senior industry professionals and superyacht owners.
The ShowBoats Design Awards will bring the specialist design skills of the superyacht industry’s most talented teams into the spotlight, crediting outstanding new superyacht designs launched during the qualifying period. With a focus on design and innovation, these Awards have rapidly become a symbol of pride and distinction for yacht design professionals.
The sixth edition of the Awards will see the presentation of fifteen coveted golden Neptune trophies to the industry’s top visionaries and craftsmen in a variety of categories. Classification has been devised in consultation with superyacht owners, builders and designers, to best reflect the talents these Awards endeavour to recognise. Nominations are now open for Interior Design, Exterior Design & Styling, Naval Architecture, Holistic Design and Tender Design. Other awards include the Environmental Protection Award presented in collaboration with RINA, the Newcomer of the Year, which recognizes a designer or design company who has seen the delivery of their first superyacht-related work in the qualifying period, the Lifetime Achievement Award and the popular Young Designer of the Year Award, sponsored by Oceanco.
Yacht designers, builders, owners and yachting enthusiasts are encouraged to submit their nominations before the closing date of 5 November, 2014. The winners will be selected by a jury comprised of yacht owners, acclaimed designers and stylists from outside the marine industry, senior yacht crew and advisors from within the industry.
To qualify, all yachts must be over 30m and have been completed and delivered to their owners between 1 November, 2013 and 31 October, 2014.
