Motor yacht KOKOMO II (ex Achilles II) is a 37 m 120 (foot) aluminium motor yacht built by Lloyds Ships Holdings and conceived by Jack Hargrave. Rivergate Marina, in Sydney Australia has just completed a major refit on the superyacht including structural modifications to the bow and extensive paint works to the exterior.
M/Y Kokomo II is a beloved superyacht in the fleet of a notable Australian owner. Fastidious on the presentation, operation and maintenance of the superyacht fleet, the Engineer and Captain of Kokomo II worked closely with Rivergate’s Project Management team to complete major works in 2010.
Rivergate was engaged to replace the hydraulic bow thruster with an electric version. This required structural modifications to the bow to survey standards.
Simultaneously, Kokomo II was sandblasted and the antifoul system changed as well as extensive paint works to the exterior. The stabilizers had a major overhaul by onsite engineers including remove actuators, change out top and bottom tapered roller bearings, repack, change out top and bottom seals, replaced hydraulic rams, refit system and commission.
Concurrently, the same engineers provided minor repairs and maintenance to pipework, safety and fire systems. The crew were impressed with the results and are planning to return later in the year to install new generators.
Luxury motor yacht KOKOMO II once operated as a charter yacht in the Whitsunday’s under the name of ACHILLES II. M/Y KOKOMO II offers accommodation for up to ten guests in five cabins.
