America’s Flagship, the 85,6m (283 ft) superyacht Cakewalk completed her maiden voyage from Connecticut to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, arriving on Sunday ahead of schedule for her debut during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Superyacht Cakewalk was designed by Tim Heywood and built by Derecktor Shipyards in the USA – making her the largest private yacht launched to date in America and a milestone achievement for Derecktor.
The megayacht Cakewalk spans 6 decks with Naval Architecture by Azure Naval Architecture and Interior design by Dalton Designs, Inc. Dozens of subcontractors from engineering firms to security specialists participated in the project.
Derektor motor yacht Cakewalk is scheduled to make her much-awaited debut at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show from the 28th of October to the 1st of November 2010. “Fittingly, this is Americas leading yacht show and she will be it’s leading lady” commented Kathy Kennedy, Derecktor’s marketing director.
