DuraShield® Marine by Glasshape is a high-performance, thoroughly tested superyacht and marine glass. The manufacturing process incorporates a company-designed polyurethane interlayer between two or more layers of glass to guarantee that there will be no reaction between the interlayer and the bonding material.
Curved and flat glass panels meet all International Accredited Classification Society requirements, as well as performance and safety standards, including BSMA25, MCA LY2, ISO21005 and ISO614.
Witnessed by Lloyds Register (LRS), Germanischer Lloyd (GL) and Bureau Veritas (BV), testing consists of stamp tests, drop tests, hydrostatic tests and durability tests designed to deliver a minimum of 20 percent additional performance and safety margin.

DuraShield® Marine Acoustic Glass
Engine noise is always an issue raised when any yacht is built. To combat this problem, a special interlayer of WhisperShield® laminate is added to the DuraShield® glass make-up. This layer has excellent sound-absorbing properties, reducing noise by up to 85 percent. Adding the WhisperShield® interlayer delivers a noise reduction performance three times better than a standard insulated glass unit. DuraShield® Marine Acoustic Glass is ideal for use in engine room door panels, hull and saloon windows, or anywhere it will help give everyone a quieter cruising experience.
DuraShield® Marine E-zone® Glass is a thermal resistant glass. Traditionally, windows are double-glazed for better thermal performance. The new E-zone® delivers the same performance as a double-glazed window, without the requirement to have the airspace between two layers of glass, resulting in a thinner, lighter, and more environmentally friendly window.
This new concept has been well received with yacht designers and yards alike: two super yacht contracts have already stipulated the all-new E-Zone®.
