Friday, May 8, 2015 saw the premier German shipyard, Nobiskrug, launch the massive and breathtaking 147-metre mega yacht A (hull 787) at the shipyard’s facilities in Kiel. Scheduled for delivery next year, this impressive yacht currently represents the world’s largest sailing yacht.
The largest vessel ever built by the prestigious German shipyard, the all-new superyacht A will now undergo the final fitting-out and first sea trials. Her construction started in March 2012, and she is reported to feature a beam of 24,38m (79’10”) and a draft of 8m (26’2”).
Two other mighty sailing yachts are currently under construction. One is the 141m (462’6’’) mega yacht DREAM SYMPHONY, taking shape at Dream Ship Victory in Turkey. The other is the 108m (354’) superyacht SOLAR, in build at Oceanco.
