Zytexx International, the foremost company specializing in the production of ceramic coatings for all marine vessels, has just completed the application on the outstanding 90-metre mega yacht ATHENA, a majestic and breath-taking three masted schooner, originally built by Royal Huisman.
The work that was completed at Club-de-Mar in Palma, is one example of the unique excellence Zytexx products offer for paint and glass surfaces that no other product on the market can match. Its innovative non-porous ceramic formula offers marine vessels the attributes that every yacht owner has been longing for: durability, longevity, a higher and longer lasting gloss finish, drastically reduced maintenance, all at a fraction of the cost of repainting.
The company has also worked on such striking vessels as the 62m mega yacht BATON ROUGE, the 61m charter yacht SOLEMAR or the 72m charter yacht TITANIA (ex Apoise), to name but a few.
We asked Michael Pass from Zytexx International about what colour and which zytexx product was chosen for the paint work on sailing yacht Athena: “We are a clear coat company, thus all our products are transparent and can be applied to any colour surface. Our PG4100 Ceramic Clear Coat was applied to the hull. Our PG 4200 Hand Application was applied to the superstructure and applied to the glass was PG 4300 Glass Treatment, one of our latest additions to the Zytexx product line.”
Zytexx’ Research & Development Division is not only constantly improving its existing products, but creating new ones. PG 4300 Glass Treatment is one such product. Designed to restore salt pitted windows to clarity, PG 4300 treated windows are water repellent eliminating spotting and reducing further etching. Even on windows fitted with wiper blades, PG 4300 provides long lasting hydrophobicity.
The company’s latest addition is the much anticipated PG 7100. This product enables the removal of the PH 4100 Ceramic Clear Coat with a simple gel application rather than the previously required sanding. The application is simple, apply the gel, wait 30 minutes and rinse, leaving the original paintwork untouched and ready for repaint, re-application or repairs. A typical 40m hull can be stripped in less than half a day per side.
We asked Michael if they are working on any other super yachts at the moment or are expecting other vessels in the near future. Michael answered: “We are working on too many vessels throughout the Mediterranean, North America and the Caribbean to list them all, however I can mention we are about to start work on M/Y Sarafsa (82m), S/Y Saudade (45m) and further works on M/Y Vibrant Curiosity (85m).”
Michael concluded: “Zytexx is a new class of marine paint protection. On over 120 vessels treated globally, our products are becoming the new industry standard, eliminating the need for short term waxes, polishes and polymers, which is why we’ve become market leaders in the field of marine coatings”.
