It has been a busy superyacht refit season for the New Zealand-based refit company, Integrated Marine Group (IMG), this summer. Over the last 12 months, the company has been kept busy welcoming back an impressive fleet of repeat customers, together with plenty of newcomers.
Luxury mega yacht Dragonfly reached New Zealand early in the season. Following her dry dock works, she departed for the Pacific, and has since hit the news for her work in assisting and aiding those affected by the devastation in Vanuatu earlier this year.
Sailing yacht Juliet was also once again hosted by IMG, returning to the Pacific following her previous visit in 2011. While she was enjoying the azure waters of New Zealand with her owners, they took the opportunity to berth alongside at Silo Marina, where IMG performed an extensive list of refit works.
Luxury charter yacht Shamoun is yet another repeat customer, reaching New Zealand after a three year cruise throughout Asia. The crew were back in touch with IMG to assist in both their yacht support as well as refit requirements. The yacht is currently at IMG for the winter and the company has carried out the job of managing the installation of a new teak deck, as well as changing out a genset and assisting in haul out arrangements.
In partnership with Ship Repair Yard in Whangarei, IMG has recently coordinated the haul out of motor yacht Legacy, before assisting with changing out their shaft prior to her voyage back to the Pacific for another season. IMG will assist them again on their return later in the season.
Last December saw superyacht Komokwa (ex Bikini Queen 2) reach New Zealand to cruise with her owner and IMG assisted in their yacht support requirements. IMG’s refit department also performed some running repairs to stabilisers as well as other systems on board during her stop in Auckland, before she departed on dock express.
