CharterWorld has approached Christopher Seymour to talk about his latest design, the huge 200m DOUBLE CENTURY yacht. Currently under development, the breath-taking giga yacht DOUBLE CENTURY concept can be characterized by strong presence, thanks to sculpted windows with a striking sheer line and a magnificent superstructure.
What was the inspiration behind this design?
There wasn’t one thing that this design stemmed from, more a collection of a lot of current design material and the design direction in which the private yachts are going in my opinion.
What are the main characteristics of the project?
There’s the powerful sheerline, pillars, and large swimming pools to name a few.
What are the most interesting/special features?
There are several features around the vessel, the helipads on the bow, which can open up and house one of the helicopters, the large tender storages available around the vessel, theater/stage that can seat 126 guests, and the 8 elevators, there’s also the powerplant which we are currently confirming, should give some great long range advantages.
Would this concept be suitable for a mega yacht charter purpose?
Yes, there are plenty of cabins to allow large number of guests to stay on the vessel which is currently 50+.
What charter destinations would this yacht be suitable for?
At 200m and long range capabilities, this vessel could really go anywhere it wants.
What kind of charter vacations could customers expect aboard one of these yachts?
Well the yacht can be very versatile, she can complete the usual Mediterranean stops, and have minimal crew and guests to keep that whole private yacht feel, bring a couple of exotic sports cars and tenders. Or she can cruise to famous world landmarks and load up on both guests and crew… maybe the sites in New York, possibly some North Pole adventures, or a tour around the Great Barrier Reef.
