The new 40m Light Ice Class yacht project has been unveiled, with naval architecture and design by Studio Sculli of Sarzana in Italy. The 40m Light Ice Class motor yacht project features minimalistic styling, with very high quality finishings and detailing. The vessel’s construction is expected to begin in January 2016.
The 40m Light Ice Class expedition yacht project is a yacht under 500 gross tons, able to go around the world, as well as undertake lengthy polar expeditions. She is designed to be extremely reliable and easy to manage, with a limited number of crew and simple maintenance procedures. This robust three-deck vessel will feature a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Diesel and electric will be the foreseen propulsion systems.
Swiss-headquartered superyacht services group Floating Life has been assigned the development of the 40m Light Ice Class superyacht project. The international bidding process for her construction, choosing among a series of prestigious international shipyards, is currently being finalized.
