Balk Shipyard has been shortlisted in The International Yacht and Aviation 2016 awards with the impressive refit of the luxury charter yacht SEVEN SINS in the Power Yacht Refit Award category, as announced by LUXE at al.

Superyacht SEVEN SINS

The refit, according to Balk Shipyard, represents one of the most intricate refits the shipyard has undertaken to date, although it only involved around one third of the yacht. The project was very unique, as it is quite rare for a yacht to be extended by two and a half metres by removing the bow section.

The new bow of the yacht was ready to be attached when the vessel arrived at the shipyard, and it took six men and an entire month to attached the new bow to the existing hull.

SEVEN SINS following refit

In addition to the new bow, SEVEN SINS also received four brand-new crew cabins, numerous storage areas, a crew mess and a laundry. Everything was prefabricated and fitted in the hall, then taken apart again in order to get it on board.

The final result is a superyacht extended by 2,3 metres, with SEVEN SINS now measuring 43,60 metres. This is a very special projects, providing the fact that she also needed to comply with the new Large Yacht 3 code. SEVEN SINS now has more balanced exterior lines and boasts a new bulbous bow that provides better fuel consumption and improved overall performance.

Seven Sins will be available for charter in the French Polynesia in the summer.
