Permateek, one of the leading manufacturers of synthetic teak decks, has announced the introduction of Permateek Light an exceptionally light and versatile decking that is up to 20% lighter than other types of synthetic decking material.
Launched at METS in Amsterdam, Permateek Light offers all the advantages of standard Permateek, being long lasting, non slip, stain resistant and importantly looks the same as a new teak deck for years to come. With a depth of just 3mm the new decking material saves well over a kilo every square metre of decking, providing a significant weight saving, ideal for sailing yachts and contributing to fuel savings on powerboats.
Like standard Permateek, Permateek Light is hand made to the exact requirements of each vessel. The panels are thermally welded from individual planks of UV stabilised material which maintains its great looks for many years, far exceeding the attractive life of a traditional teak deck. Fitted to yachts with an existing teak deck or any substrate, Permateek Light will enhance the looks and therefore the value of any sailing yacht, powerboat or sports boat.
Permateek has a network of distributors offering a highly professional fitting service, ensuring that a finished Permateek deck looks exactly like a traditional teak deck, complete with a choice of caulking in black or white and all the detail and hand finishing expected of a quality teak deck.
Permateek Light can be seen on stand 03.423 in the British Pavilion at METS
