Ricky Smith of Ricky Smith Design has unveiled its latest 80m ERA yacht concept with an innovative hull shape designed by S.F.M. Naval Architects (Stuart Friezer Marine Naval Architects) based in Denmark. This hull shape was designed to reduce resistance and produce both speed as well as optimum stability when desired and needed. ERA boasts a design pedigree closely associated with 2 Hales Transatlantic speed records.
The vessel ischaracterised by a unique bow shape with organic lines and was designed to appear stealth like, sleek and devoid offacets. She is a fast superyacht with head-turning aspects.
ERA 80 can be boarded through the transom either via the reception lounge, sea boarded by either the lower deck port or starboard sea balconies, via tender to the huge 10M x13Mgarage, or throughout the helicopter pad on the owners’ deck. The 13-metre beam allows up to a Bell 427 or Eurocopter EC145 size chopper to land.
Ricky Smith designed bespoke luxury interiors created to theowners wishes, with ERA 80 interior design using advancements in lightweight materials for all surfaces while keeping a deluxe yet radically simplified palette to all areas of the interior.
The one-of-a-kind fit out method applied to complete the interior of the 192 foot “Ulysses” explorer superyacht in just 10 months has been reapplied to allow this modern and elegant interior to be completed offsite and installed quickly allowing handover to the owners. This method allows large areas of the interior to be pre-finished and ready to install in parallel timing with the fabrication stage.
