Dutch shipbuilder DAMEN launched its latest 70m/227ft Yacht Support vessel with helipad hangar – YS 6911 GAME CHANGER.

GAME CHANGER is the fourth Yacht Support vessel in the 70-metre segment. With much success from the previous launches, DAMEN is now the leader in the yacht support vessels construction, with a total of 11 vessels have been delivered or are in build.

“Our clients want to go to exciting new destinations with less established superyacht infrastructure, and they want to have more fun with larger tenders, larger helicopters and submersibles,” comments DAMEN Product Director Mark Vermeulen. “They also want to take more staff, guides, pilots and security personnel with them. GAME CHANGER is the massive leap forward in capability that they need, but at a much lower cost than a larger yacht. Plus, they get all the benefits of flexible operations and privacy. GAME CHANGER is a perfect option for owners who want to explore more remote destinations. The vessel features a fully certified helideck, allowing longer flights to the mother yachts or various locations. The great benefit of the helicopter hangar is the protection from the elements, so it is refuelled and available for take-off without causing disruption and noise on the mother yacht.
Support Vessel Game Changer
There is plenty of space on the 250sq m open deck, which carries tenders and toys. To large crane is meant to keep logistics and handling simple, fast and safe. A further 100sq m storage space/dive center is below deck, bearing in mind that GAME CHANGER can carry plenty of provisions, fuel, luggage and spare parts. Accommodation, offices and facilities are provided for 22 crew and staff.
