It has been a great week in the yachting industry, with some great announcement of the new superyacht joining the world of charter yachts, yacht launch celebrations and anticipation of the new fantastic sailing yacht launches. It has also been fantastic few days in the superyachts media with some really stunning new shots out there. Here are out top 6 superyacht photos of the week.
AQUILA
Built by Derecktor Shipyard in 2010, motor yacht Aquila is a breathtaking 85.6m vessel. Her exterior design was drawn by famous Tim Heywood. Aquila has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. The naval architecture of this full displacement yacht was developed by Azure Naval Architects, while Azure Naval Architecture Dalton Designs were responsible for her lavish interior. Among Aquila’s many exceptional characteristics are her generous public areas, which make good use of her 14,30-metre beam and enormous volume – wow!
HERE COMES THE SUN
The global charter fleet welcomes mega yacht Here Comes The Sun. This 83-metre luxury superyacht was launched in 2016 by Amels. Another incredible yacht designed by Tim Heywood, Here Comes The Sun boasts graceful exterior lines. With opulent interior design by the world-renowned superyacht design studio Winch Design, she will sure win the hearts of her charter guests. She is currently the largest yacht ever built by Amels.
Here Comes The Sun is available for charter in the Western Mediterranean from €1,200,000-€1,300,000 per week plus expenses.
ICE
Motor yacht Ice is an imposing 90m mega yacht built by German shipyard Lurssen. She was launched in 2005 and constructed to the design drawn by Tim Heywood. Interior decor of luxury superyacht Ice was designed by Terence Disdale and offers elegant and ultra luxurious furnishings and amenities. Ice superyacht is powered by diesel-electric engines and reaches a maximum speed of 18 knots.
ADASTRA
The 42.5-metre trimaran Adastra is another unique superyacht has recently joined the world charter fleet. She was recently spotted in St Maarten, the Caribbean, where she is currently available for charter. Adastra’s owner in collaboration with naval architects and exterior designers from John Shuttleworth Ltd worked on her exterior. Among her outstanding features are fantastic seakeeping capabilities and low fuel consumption. She has plenty of room to sleep 6 guests and 5 crew members. She is even capable of carrying two tenders and water toys.
SANAM
Sanam is the third hull of the Palmer Johnson SportYacht 170 series. She was built in 2016 by Palmer Johnson, following the success of her sister ships DB9 and BLISS. With aggressive sporty looks, she features cozy and sophisticated internal areas, designed by Nuvolari Lenard. An outstanding feature of Sanam is her ability to reach a top speed of 30 knots, as she is powered by two MTU 16V 4000 M93L engines.
RISING SUN
One of the most impressive superyachts in the fleet of the world’s largest superyachts, Rising Sun is a 138-metre luxury superyacht with a launch in 2004. Boasting enormous interior spaces Rising Sun sleeps 16 guests, assisted by a crew of 45 (!). The yacht was designed inside and out by some of the world’s leading superyacht design studios. The extensive wine cellar with a selection of some of the best wines around onboard Rising Sun is definitely an add-on to her lavish amenities. There is also a basketball court on the main deck, which can be converted into a helicopter pad.
