The International Superyacht Society has announced the winners of the 2017 Design & Leadership Awards. The awards were presented at the 27th ISS’s Award Gala in Fort Lauderdale.
MY SONG
Delivered in 2016 My Song is a state-of-the-art custom-built superyacht created by Baltic Yachts. In 2017 she received the Best Sail 24-40m Award. The overall styling of this beautiful vessel was designed by Nauta Design while Reichel/Pugh produced a yacht that has an amazing high performance. Her contemporary interior is elegant, stunning and comfortable. She also has interchangeable sails which can be used for racing or cruising. At 39.62m /130ft, My Song has luxurious guest cabins, one owner cabin, as well as spacious teak decks.
SYBARIS
This beautifully designed superyacht won the prestigious Best Sail 40m+ Award in 2017. Not only did Sybaris win this accolade, she also won the Award for the Best Interior. She is 70m/229ft8” in length, designed and constructed by the Perini Navi Shipyard. Sybaris’s sculpted lines and sleek looks were the brainchild of Philippe Briand who also worked on the sail plan as well as the naval architecture. Spacious and light, Sybaris features bespoke furniture and lots of titanium throughout. Accommodating 12 guests in six luxury cabins, the owner’s suite has two bathrooms, a walk-in wardrobe, an office, lounge and a dressing area. The 18m/60ft flybridge offers a fantastic vantage viewing point when sailing.
AQUILA
For the Best Refit superbly executed out by Pendennis Shipyard, Aquila deservedly earned this award. She is one of the largest superyachts to be built in the States since the 1930s. With her exterior styling by RWD and beautiful interior designed by Susan Young, she also has spacious decks that can be divided to cater for different occasions. The sun deck has a large Jacuzzi, treatment room and the day bar. All of the four decks provide space for al fresco dining, socialising and relaxing. This 85.5m/280ft11” superyacht also has a unique party deck with a DJ booth, light show, smoke machine and AV system.
JETSETTER
Given the Best Power 24-40m Award, Jetsetter’s interior was designed by Bannenberg & Rowell and launched by the new yard Dynamiq. She’s a grand touring yacht with a shallow draught of 1.7m which makes her perfect when cruising in the Mediterranean or Caribbean. Accommodating up to eight guests in four state rooms, Jetsetter is modern, sophisticated and elegant, both inside and out. The 20m long sun deck has a 75” TV so ideal for everyone to catch the latest movie. With zero speed stabilisers, Jetsetter ensures a comfortable night’s sleep for guests when at anchor and when out at sea.
CHASSEUR
Chasseur is 48.8m/160.1ft in length and was delivered in September 2016. Built by Christensen Shipyards she is a fantastic vessel for holidaymakers. Awarded the Best Power 40-65m Award she is modern, contemporary and stunning interior design comprises of neutral tones with splashes of colour. Milk-glazed sycamore walls, holly and teak hardwood flooring with rosewood joinery compliment the colours of the silk and wool rugs scattered throughout. There are plenty of comfortable areas to sit and relax or chill out in the Jacuzzi. Guests can enjoy a huge selection of water sport toys too.
FAITH
Awarded the Best Power 65m+ Faith now has a second wellness area on the bridge deck. There’s also more shading on the aft decks. All of the exterior styling is by the British design studio Redman Whiteley with Azure Naval Architects providing the project management services. Up to 18 guests and 32 crew can be comfortably accommodated in the master suite, four double cabins, two VIP cabins and two convertible rooms. Chahan Design created the exquisite interior which includes a floating staircase and double-sided fireplace in quartz and limestone. Faith also has a helipad, a glass-bottomed swimming pool, a gymnasium and pizza oven.
