Project Alucia2 is a new explorer yacht capable of global cruising in all weather conditions. She was designed by Gresham Yacht Design and commissioned to an experienced owner; whose goal is to explore the global ocean together with OceanX, James Cameron and BBC’s Blue Planet.
Measuring 87m, yacht Project Alucia will serve as a platform to discover the unexplored waters and “map uncharted areas of the world”. She will be equipped with the latest marine research labs, media equipment, submersibles, helicopters, drones and other technology.
“We are thrilled to be a part of such an exciting and unique project,” says Steve Gresham, founder and principal designer at Gresham Yacht Design. “These types of projects are rare to come by, and we are honoured to have been commissioned by the owner to deliver a design that is extremely functional and robust, it is a true explorer vessel.”
Explorer yacht Project Alucia2 is the result of the commercial vessel conversion, which will be refitted and ready for delivery next year. As the new explorer vessel has already started undergoing a major refit, the owner’s existing 55.7m yacht Alucia is now for sale.
Although luxury explorer yacht Alucia2 will not be available for charter, there is a large number of expedition/explorer vessels available for charter in the Mediterranean this summer.
