Heesen Yachts has announced the appointment of Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design as the interior designer of the new 80,7m mega yacht PROJECT COSMOS currently under construction at the yard. The owners have chosen the company to create bespoke interiors for their new yacht with exteriors by Winch Design and due to be delivered in April 2022.
This collaboration is the third in which Hessen and Sinot work together. Previous projects included the design of AZAMANTA, the first yacht in the 55m Fast Displacement Steel class, and the 70-metre FDHF multi-award-winning GALACTICA SUPER NOVA, which also represents the shipyard’s largest yacht to date.
PROJECT COSMOS will have 1,700 Gross Tonnes and will reach a top speed of 29 knots. Once launched, she will be the world’s largest and fastest full-aluminium motor yacht, fitted with conventional propeller propulsion system.
The inspiration behind the interior design comes from natural elements, such as the mathematical Fibonacci sequence, which will create the platform for the interior architecture of the vessel. Exclusive materials such as backlit onyx, straw marquetry and crystal glass panels will be framed by the architectural lines and made-to-measure furniture pieces from glass, marble, metal and wood will complete the overall look.
Heesen’s principal interior workshop is located in Winterswijk, 120 kilometres from Oss, and offers over 7,000 square metres of working space where experienced cabinet makers work on up to five Heesen projects at one time, creating all of the luxury areas. At the shipyard in Oss, 30 craftsmen work on the interior for all of the service areas.
