Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has launched and delivered a new 42.8m/140ft motor yacht named AUDACE, which was designed by Andrea Pezzini of Floating Life with naval architecture by Mauro Sculli of Studio Sculli, and engineering by HydroTec.
M/Y AUDACE was created to fulfil the desires of former Indesit chairman Andrea Merloni, who wanted a luxury yacht that he could essentially treat as a floating home while exploring every corner of the world, drawing on his extensive sailing and yacht ownership experience to travel to destinations such as the Suez Canal, Panama and South American locations such as Patagonia.
Among the desired amenities and arrangement is an Owner’s penthouse apartment in place of a sundeck that has its own salon and galley. Other features include two discotheques, one of which is internal and soundproofed and the other semi-open. A removable mezzanine has also been installed for the storage of jet skis above the Land Rover Defender, BMW GS 1200 motorbike (used for short shore excursions) and service tender.
The guest accommodation consists of four large staterooms, two of which are placed on the main deck and two of which on the lower deck open out with side terraces. The lower deck swim platform is partially sheltered by the main deck overhang, where there is a crane with a 2.22 tonne capacity for the launch and retrieval of the tenders and other vessels. The upper deck aft is fitted with a C-shaped sofa that follows the full width of the stern, and two raised tables create a comfortable casual alfresco dining area. to complete the outdoor amenities, the sundeck aft has a large Jacuzzi with a sofa/sunbed to either side.
