Italian shipyard group Antonini Gruppo S.p.A has announced a new addition to its family with the formation of new brand Antonini Navi.
The Antonini family have placed their full support behind the project, which was envisioned by Aldo Manna, and more than €10 million has already been planned for investment.
The brand will be ideally placed at the Cantiere Navale Marina di Pertusola shipyard in Muggiano near La Spezia on the Italian Riviera, taking advantage of the location to call on industry experts while also using the extensive knowledge and heritage of Antonini Gruppo along with the entrepreneurial aptitude of the Antonini family to its advantage.
The Antonini Navi brand will combine a range of top quality marine services from Gruppo Antonini, including the construction of custom luxury yachts up to 70m/229.6ft in length, third-party construction, refitting and superyacht berthing facilities, and after-sales services.
“I’m honoured to be an integral and active part of the new brand,” said Aldo Manna, creator and partner in Antonini Navi. “This is a great project with solid foundations: the Antonini family still runs the industrial group that bears its name as a ‘family business’, in which personal, human relationships are always the true cornerstone of the business model. Now more than ever, clients feel the need to deal directly with the owners of a shipyard and not just with investment fund managers.”
Gruppo Antonini currently employs around 200 people and 50 collaborators, several of whom will be assigned to the new project focusing on four specific areas:
- Mega yacht construction for third parties, taking advantage of the shipyard production facility systems and equipment for manufacturing steel hulls and superstructures.
- Full custom yacht production from expert craftsmen, engineers and other industry professionals.
- Refitting both in terms of general renovations to extensive changes using cutting-edge technology.
- Finally, the Antonini Navi brand will also see the creation of a luxury yacht range named ‘Crossover’, producing models from 30m/98.4ft up to 50m/164ft in length. Award-winning architect and designer Fulvio De Simoni will be the creative director for the series, named ‘Crossover’ due to its innovative and cross-market appeal.
Some of the luxury yachts produced by the shipyard will likely take advantage of being right at the heart of the Mediterranean charter grounds to offer luxury yacht charters and further the brand’s name on the international stage.
