Damen Yachts is preparing for the launch of expedition charter yacht LA DATCHA at the Vlissingen facility in the Netherlands.

The SeaXplorer 77 model is the largest in the SeaXplorer series currently being constructed; she spans five decks and stores a wide selection of water toys, tenders and other vehicles for extensive exploration anywhere in the world.
LA DATCHA is immediately recognisable due to her gloss chestnut hull colour, and her exterior styling is the work of Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architecture in collaboration with the shipyard engineering team. She is built with an ice-breaking IMO Polar Code compliant hull and has storage for up to 40 days’ worth of provisions.

She was commissioned by an Owner who wanted a vessel with heli-skiing, surfing and Scuba diving capabilities, and is known to have two helicopters, a helipad and hangar, a dive centre and decompression chamber, and forward and aft tender garages storing either two snow scooters or up to four Waveruners.
The SeaXplorer was unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018 in September, however the keel laying has already taken place for LA DATCHA two months earlier, and outfitting begin in August 2019.

The accommodation sleeps up to 12 guests over 6 en-suite staterooms, including two Master suites and a generous VIP stateroom. The highly trained crew of 25 includes pilots and guides to ensure that guests get the most out of every destination.
Expedition yacht LA DATCHA is expected to be delivered this year in September, and from October she will be available in the Mediterranean before spending the winter season in the Indian Ocean, with Russia as a destination from March 2021.
