German shipyard Lürssen has completed an extensive interior and exterior refit on 110m/360.9ft mega yacht KAOS, which has now left the shipyard’s Blohm+Voss facilities at Hamburg and returned to her owners.
The refit began at the end of March 2019 and included modifications to the main deck and bridge deck aft, while inside an area of approximately 1,500m2/16,145.9ft2 has been renewed by the Owner’s choice of designer, Reymond Langton Design.
In recent years Lürssen has developed its refit facilities into the core business, and there are now eight shipyards across Germany for simultaneous refits using dry docks, covered facilities and over 2,800 people, of which more than 700 are engineers and naval architects. For Owners, a refit is more than just an appearance refresh: It is the opportunity to extend the vessel’s life expectancy and improve performance to be comparable to that of a newly-built yacht.
