Bering Yachts has announced the launch of its first B145 luxury expedition yacht HEEUS – its biggest luxury yacht to date.
The 44.2m/145ft vessel was launched on Thursday the 28th of April at the Antalya shipyard in Turkey. She is a semi-custom vessel constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure with naval architecture by the shipyard’s in-house team.
Features aboard M/Y HEEUS include an ice belt to explore the polar regions, a beach club followed by a tender garage of more than 25m2/269ft2, a flybridge with Jacuzzi and bar, a generous interior salon and dining area for 12 guests on the main deck, and a further dining area on the upper deck with the sky lounge.
The onboard accommodation can sleep up to 12 guests over 6 en-suite cabins, which include a main deck master suite with glass windows covering an area of 9.5m2/102ft2. There is also accommodation for a crew of 10.
A pair of Caterpillar C32 Acert engines of 1,200 BHP at 1,800-2,100 RPM give a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots with a range of more than 5,000 nautical miles. A hybrid propulsion system uses a propeller-driven by electric motors, which are in turn charged by a battery bank. This battery bank can be recharged by a high-efficiency variable-speed DC generator, and docking and mooring are possible in electric more for more environmentally friendly cruising.
