Fitzroy yachts, New Zealand have recently begun construction on a 40.5m (131’) Sailing Yacht Project named F41. The sleek Frers designed sloop features a silver hull and superstructure, offset by extensive Teak decks.
The Fitzroy sailing yacht F41 will be built to exceptional quality levels continuing the Yards reputation for building award winning Super Yachts. The design brief called for a very clean and unique yacht with all the comforts and practical details required for long periods at sea.
The hull is an Aluminium construction with a lifting keel and a twin rudder configuration ensuring a good tradeoff between shallow draft and performance. A composite mast and rigging is equipped with a furling boom. The storm sail is stored under deck ready to use together with a Code 1.
The deck of the F41 Fitzroy sailing yacht is designed in a way that is easy to flow through. The single level cockpit, the raised salon, the bow area and a stern area are planned to provide privacy and different perspectives either while sailing or at anchor.
The Dick Young designed interior gets warmer as you step down into the cabins and entertainment rooms. Storage space of deck items and personal gear have been carefully analysed to incorporate the volume required in an elegant manner. The F41 sloop will provide accomotaion for 8 guests in an owners suite and 3 guest cabins.
