Yet another beautiful yacht under construction at Heesen Yachts has been announced; the Project VENUS superyacht, also known under YN 20655 is the latest from the popular 55m Steel Series featuring exterior lines by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects. Her keel laying took place at Talsma Shipyards, in Friesland to which Heesen has long contracted its steel fabrication.
Venus is unique thanks to her elegant yet masculine and sturdy profile, featuring a distinctive shark tooth motif behind the wheelhouse windows. She is the third vessel under construction since the model’s important restyling.
Thank to her 760GT she is ‘compact’ enough to be able to cruise the Mediterranean with ease and enter all harbours, yet large enough to feature all that is necessary for a luxurious stay on board, with plenty of amenities, large indoor and outdoor spaces as well as an array of toys.
“We are excited to celebrate this milestone in the construction of YN 20655, Project Venus,” commented Friso Visser, Heesen’s CCO. “Our 55-metre Steel Series is one of the most successful in Heesen’s history. We pioneered the construction of superyachts on speculation in the 2000s with the launch of the 37-metre series. Today, we have mastered the art of building superyachts in series on proven engineering platforms and offer no fewer than five different designs ranging from 50 to 57 metres. At 55 metres, Venus is among our Crown Jewels.”
With interior design by Luca Dini Design and Architecture, her accommodation spreads over six deluxe staterooms, sleeping up to twelve guests. The spacious owner’s apartment is placed forward on the main deck and boasts a lovely French balcony on the starboard side as well as a private outdoor seating area for the owners to enjoy.
Project VENUS is secure, efficient and comfortable. She has a steel Fast Displacement Hull Form and will be fitted with two MTU4000 M63 (IMO Tier III) engines, able to reach a top speed of 15,5 knots and a curing speed of 13 knots. Her transatlantic range is 4,500 nautical miles at cruising speed.
YN 20655, Project Venus, is the eighth in the popular 55-metre Steel Series and is available for delivery in Spring 2025.
