Striking superyacht SPARTA emerged from Heesen’s construction sheds this week to begin her sea trials. At 67m (219’10”) she is the largest steel-hulled yacht ever built by the Dutch shipyard and features exterior and interior design by Winch Design.
She presents with a sporty, low-profile, reverse bow with red and metallic grey highlights. The angular windows give a glimpse into the stunning interior which has been designed around the theme of nature’s elements and centres around family life and wellness. Nature is represented in the palm leaf upholstery, stained oak furniture, mother of pearl inlays and star constellation artwork.
Her interior highlights include two owner’s suites situated on the bridge deck which both benefit from access to a dining and alfresco area. There are four additional suites on the main deck and the forward two can be joined to create a full-beam VIP or playroom. In total there is accommodation for up to 12 guests, plus two staff and 14 crew.
On the lower deck there is a 65-square-metre spa with an elliptical whirlpool, steam room, sauna, gym, and beauty area. The 6.5m glass fronted swimming pool is the centrepiece of the sociable split-level beach club which also features cathedral steps down to the lower level at the water’s edge.
Performance comes from the twin MTU engines which deliver a top speed of 16 knots and a range of 4,500 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots.
