The merger of the German Drettmann Group and the Turkish Sunrise Yachts has resulted in the Drettmann Sunrise Group, which has created a totally new option for all yacht owners and would-be owners. The new company will roll out its eagerly awaited market presentation in January 2011, adding new impetus to the international yacht market with its European design, innovative ideas and a wealth of accumulated experience.
The name Drettmann has long since been synonymous with a highprofile international brand, a byword for excellent ships of different sizes and features, but all with unparalleled quality and lasting value. The Bremen company recently decided to reinvent itself: after some turbulent times, Claudia and Albert Drettmann, the highly dedicated couple who own the company, resolved to move right back up to the front of the international competitive field with first-class pre-owned yachts and new product lines. They have meanwhile been joined on board by Sunrise Yacht, a Turkish shipyard: the comparatively young but nevertheless highly successful state-of-the-art European-style shipyard is based in the picturesque location of Antalya and recently hit the headlines with its highly impressive 45-metre yacht „Africa“, a stunning example of technical and design excellence.
New lines, new targets
Following the merger, the Drettmann Group now offers no fewer than three top-class lines with lengths of between 25 and 60 metres plus: the DSY Super Yachts, as well as two completely new lines, Motor Yachts (DMY) and Explorers (DEY). In terms of appearance, performance and quality, all three lines have achieved an unprecedented new level, which unambiguously reveals the quality-driven and customer-focused corporate philosophy of the Drettmann Group.
„For most of our customers, owning a yacht is a dream. Right from the start, we accordingly regard it as our task to make that dream come true in every single facet, no matter what size, what style, what details are involved. Our corporate reorganization with new designs, new partners and new locations has raised our potential to new dimensions. We are now in a position to create an exclusive and unique product to match highly diverse customer requests,“ comments Claudia Drettmann, senior executive and interior designer of the Drettmann Group.
Service first
The new and wider spectrum of performance and quality also applies to the segment of first-class pre-owned yachts. The spacious and modern Drettmann premises in Bremen-Hemelingen consequently invite customers to come along and view up to 80 pre-owned yachts for themselves and make their own comparisons. „Offering customized personal service and providing responsible professional advice, taking note – or even second-guessing – our customers‘ wishes is one of the keys to our success. Flexible though we may be, our customers know that they can depend utterly on us, not only in all aspects of engineering and design, but also when it comes to service. For example, if the yacht requires a change of colour or the interior needs revamping, we ensure prompt and perfect execution. Our passion for all things maritime does tend to make us sticklers for perfection,“ explains Albert Drettmann.
Added value included
This claim to perfection is simultaneously an obligation to keep our eye firmly on not only the product itself, but also the entire life cycle and the aspect of resale value. The Drettmann-Sunrise Group is therefore the only company in the market to offer a three-year guarantee, a life-cycle management option as well as comprehensive after-sales service, which leads to a substantial advantage when it comes to resale. And since we are talking money: the synergies resulting from the merger with Sunrise Yachts mean we can offer excellent value for money: on the one hand, you have 40 years of experience in construction, organisation and sales – all „made in Germany“; on the other hand, we deliver sophisticated skilled craftsmanship from Turkey at affordable prices. A highly promising combination that is already evident from the success stories of both these companies to date.
Some initial hands-on impressions will be on display at the Düsseldorf Boat Show in January 2011 (Stand E21, Hall 6) where the Drettmann-Sunrise Group will present the new company, the Sunrise Super Yacht product portfolio and, to begin with, two of the brand-new Drettmann Motor Yacht and Explorer Yacht designs for visitors to inspect.
