The captain and crew of 52m (170’7″) new generation sailing yacht SCORPIOS are ready to welcome charter guests on board their pride and joy. Combining classic and contemporary designs, she represents a benchmark of timeless nautical luxury and can accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 staterooms with a crew of ten.
Having been custom-built for the charter market by Radež, she has now been delivered to her inspirational owner Antonio Ivanisevic, who had this to say, “We wanted to bring something new to the market; our three guiding words for Scorpios were Luxury, Innovation, and Excellence. I drew inspiration from the many years I have spent around yachts, a prior build, talking to yacht owners, and visiting yacht shows. We were determined to bring even more innovation to the design and create an unparalleled yachting experience.”
She is a steel hulled, displacement sailing yacht with an 8.8m (28’11”) beam and 3m (9’9”) draft designed by naval architect Vinko Strizic, from ProMar Design. Her interior design is by Natasha Orlovic who was delighted to see her designs come to life on board and shares her inspiration with us. She commented, “a yacht’s name serves as the starting point and a significant source of inspiration for our work … When working on Scorpios, the name evoked images of flowing sand dunes, warm beige tones, and the seamless merging of the desert and sky.”
The flybridge is zoned to create distinct spaces for dining, sunbathing or simply relaxing with a drink on the sunpads or the sit up bar which surrounds the stunning circular jacuzzi. Sheltered by the flybridge overhang is the main deck aft which offers a sophisticated and sociable al fresco dining setting with an open lounge overlooking the stern. From here, large transom doors are hiding another surprise – an intimate lounge area, perfect for a morning coffee or relaxing at the water’s edge.
Natasha’s design of the main salon includes contemporary furnishings set against light wooden herringbone flooring. The space is stylish and bright thanks to the huge windows which make the space a haven away from the sun, but certainly not from the light. From outside, a small lobby leads into the bar and lounge space, while the more formal 12-seater dining setting fills the forward area of the salon. A fold-out balcony to port offers a lovely peaceful spot overhanging the water.
Her superior staterooms are unique from many sailing yachts and are decorated in a muted palette of soft grey, warm wood and accents of subtle blue. The ensuite bathrooms blend perfectly into the suites and cleverly echo the colour scheme with the master ensuite boasting a full bathtub. The suites are configured as 1 x full beam master aft, 1 x full beam VIP bow and 4 x convertible double to twin.
Power comes from twin Baudouin 700HP engines which deliver top speeds of 14 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots and she comes equipped with a brand-new tender and water toys including Seadoo jetskis, Seabobs, waterskis, inflatables and fishing and snorkelling gear.
Not only does she represent a new era of Croatian-built yachts, but her owner and dedicated crew are committed to excellence and operate with a sustainable philosophy, choosing to work with local farms and fisherman and using bio-friendly products. Owner Antonio Ivanisevic describes his team as “the soul of the boat” and is truly passionate about travel in Croatia and describing the project as a chance to, “give back to the community, and proudly show guests our country.”
Luxury sailing yacht SCORPIOS is now available to charter through CharterWorld and Otium Yachts.
