Luxury yacht PROJECT 111.11 is now under construction at Van de Valk Shipyard in the Netherlands to an exterior design by Guido de Groot and interiors by Carla Guilhem. Across 34m (111’6”) and four decks she offers plenty of entertainment facilities plus accommodation in five staterooms.
Guido de Groot worked closely with the owners to create a fresh exterior design. “They had clear ideas of what they wanted having been unable to find anything suitable among the semi-custom and series options available on today’s market,” says De Groot. “Four decks on a 34-metre yacht is no small feat and every deck has its own specific requirements.”
Van der Valk’s head of sales added, “the design needed to accommodate the owners’ key wishes for five staterooms, including a full-beam master on the main deck, a sky lounge, a main deck salon, spacious crew quarters and a multifunctional beach club/sports-garage.”
The profile features straight lines and forward-facing angles with an arch that rises diagonally from the main deck to the hard top in a single line. There are large windows on the lower deck and low bulwarks which emphasise exterior aesthetic and allow for seamless views from the main salon.
On the sun deck a forward-facing jacuzzi is surrounded by a generous seating area and a bar, while the midships section offers a U-shaped lounge with a flexible table that facilitates everything from formal dining to cocktail parties. Aft-facing sunbeds complete the picture of a space well used, with an ingenious system of doors and panels creating a partition when the weather requires.
The yacht boasts a wealth of storage and facilities to enable self-sufficiency allowing the owners to spend more days at sea without going into port – every space from under the sunbeds to beneath the sofas has been utilised.
The interior design evolved over time with the client giving carte blanche to designer Carl Guilhem after they abandoned their original concept in favour of her alternative suggestions. “We have opted for a futuristic feel with super-smooth rounded shapes and a monochrome look with trims and frames that emphasise the neutral colours,” says Guilhem. “It’s all very elegant and will give the sensation that you’ve never seen anything like it before. To achieve this, we are working closely with the yard to simplify construction of the elements and frames, with most of furniture being loose… And I can’t wait to see the results!”
A full-beam master suite on the main deck offers a large walk-in wardrobe and as the owners will be onboard for extended periods, the private office has been extensively equipped. The lower deck features four ensuite staterooms to complement the main deck master – two large VIPs amidships and two twins).
Delivery of luxury yacht PROJECT 111.11 is due in Q3 2024 and we look forward to bringing you more information as launch day approaches.
