Hoek Design have announced the launch of classically styled 32.5m (106’7”) motor yacht FAR NIENTE whose line are inspired by the famous Dutch herring luggers of the early 1900s. Those bygone vessels were known for their sea-keeping ability which enabled them to work in the demanding North Sea.
“Once again we have combined the timeless and elegant, good looks of a classic motor yacht design with a fully optimised, hi-tech underwater body shape using all the modern design programming we now have at our disposal,” said Andre Hoek.
Her round-bilged hull design is the result of optimising using Hoek Design’s computational fluid dynamics programs.
“By optimising hull and propeller design we have been able to maximise fuel efficiency,” said Hoek managing partner Ruurt Meulemans.
The result is a yacht with an impressive range of 3,750 nautical miles, maximum speed of 11 knots and cruising speed of 10 knots, making transatlantic passage an option. Fitted with stabilisers for comfort, bow and stern thrusters for manoeuvrability and twin generators for power, she is ready to take any challenge.
Dining and lounge options are available across the interior and exterior with accommodation configured as one large owner’s cabin on the main deck and four guest cabins, three crew cabins and galley on the lower deck. She features contemporary styling and décor throughout blending grey washed oak with white panelling and timber beams.
She boasts stowage for two tenders which can be launched using the specially design retractable crane.
Luxury yacht FAR NIENTE‘s gentleman’s boat looks, and spacious, contemporary interior make her a wonderful addition to the Hoek Design and SES Yachts‘ fleet and would make a cool charter vessel one day.
