Luxury yacht MAT from Cantiere Delle Marche’s Flexplorer 146 range has been launched and delivered, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of the series. With the same foundational concept as previous Flexplorer models, she introduces a brand-new equipment list, layout, accommodation and deck configuration – showcasing the adaptability and flexibility of the range.
“With the Flexplorer line, Cantiere delle Marche demonstrates its exceptional capability to transform a semi-custom explorer yacht into a fully custom masterpiece. While we provide base designs to guide Owners on the style and character of their yacht, they have the freedom to personalize every aspect as they wish. This extensive level of personalization is what truly defines our concept of semi-custom,” says Ennio Cecchini, Executive Chairman and Founder of Cantiere delle Marche. “This range is giving us great satisfaction both commercially and, above all, because it is contributing to further enhancing our reputation in the yachting community while strengthening our position as the world leaders in explorer yachts building.”
With one less deck level than her predecessor, explorer yacht MAT has a sleeker profile, but maintains the robust, exploration-ready aesthetic the series is known for. Instead of the iconic A-frame crane seen on MAVERICK and AURELIA, the owner opted for an ‘invisible crane’ to handle the tender and toys. The crane debuted on explorer yachts in the RJ series with a hidden in the sun deck overhang. When the tender and toys are launched the huge aft deck with collapsible bulwarks tuns into and expansive water’s edge deck.
Naval architecture, engineering and exterior design comes from the masterful team at Hydro Tec, while the interiors have been crafted by Nauta Design to blend elegance and functionality. Superyacht MAT is the sixth collaboration between Cantiere delle Marche and Nauta and Mario Pedol, founder of Nauta had this to say, “We are very happy with MAT … her interiors are spacious and well balanced. All guest areas boast large windows to bring light and views into the interior and enhance the feeling of indoor-outdoor connection. The yacht’s interior architecture is clean and refined with natural materials that are pleasantly tactile and colours that are light and pleasant to live among. The play of reflected light brings an element of constant movement to the interiors that enlivens and enriches the appeal of clean forms and natural tones.”
With a length of 44.5m (147’6”) she features generous sociable and private spaces spread over three decks including accommodation for up to ten guests. A crew of nine will manage the yacht’s operations and will ensure the comfort of guests on board. She is powered by twin Caterpillar C32 engines that deliver a top speed of 14 knots and a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots.
