North Wind Yachts in Barcelona, Spain has put its shipyard, repair & refit facilities up for sale following plans to relocate.
The facilities at North Wind’s site in Barcelona include a fully equipped production hall measuring 60m in length x 30m wide x 23m high and a five-storey office with exceptional Mediterranean views. An external esplanade measuring close to 12,000m2 is also available for repair and refit works. North Wind Yachts has already sold its northern hall to the Barcelona World Race Foundation.
The yard offers an excellent location in which to develop a marine business in the Med, providing good opportunities for yacht construction, repair and refit activities, sales and brokerage and any other marine-related business.
The site is located a few minutes away from Barcelona’s city centre and 15 minutes from the Barcelona international airport. The North Wind shipyard is located at the entrance of Barcelona Harbor, where yachts sailing to the private yachting clubs and marinas of Barcelona pass by. The location is surrounded by excellent infrastructure, including the new “W”-Hotel.
A final urban plan includes the construction of a new marina with more than 200 moorings for yachts from 15m-50m (49ft-164ft), with a total investment of €240m. The facilities are currently under government concession until 2024, however the area available and the duration of the concession will be extended in the near future.
North Wind says that it has invested over €4.5m in the shipyard, repair & refit facilities.
