Heesen Yachts is proud to announce the launch of their first yacht in its 55 metre semi-displacement series, motor yacht QUINTA ESSENTIA. The luxury superyacht Quinta Essentia was launched at the shipyard in Oss, The Netherlands on Friday, 11th March 2011.
Project managed by Nakhimov, YN 14955 is the largest and one of the most powerful Heesen yachts to be launched so far. Powered by a pair of 4.300kW, MTU 20V 4000 M93L diesel engines, motor yacht Quinta Essentia will reach a notable top speed of 24 knots. In consultation with Van Oossanen Associates, Heesen’s in-house naval architects have created a sophisticated and highly efficient hard-chine hull, while Frank Laupman from Omega Architects drew the sleek and elegant exterior lines. With her pelican beak bow and reverse sheer, Quinta Essentia yacht clearly shows her Heesen pedigree. The owners, in collaboration with Dobroserdov Design, personally worked on the colour scheme, which features a combination of a custom metallic dark red Awlgrip paint that is combined with oyster white. The inspiration for the dark red tone is taken from Montemaggio Merlot and reflects another of the owner’s passions – fine Tuscan wines. The same colour scheme is repeated on the limousine tender, designed by Vripack and custom built in New Zealand by Vaudrey Miller.
The discreet luxury of Quinta Essentia motoryacht’s interior was conceived by interior designer Ken Freivokh and further developed by Michela Reverberi, who was responsible for the detailing and interior decoration. Commenting on this design co-operation, Nakhimov’s principal, Sergei Dorboserdov explained: “Ken was asked to create a futuristic interior in the minimalist style and while this resulted in an extremely attractive and conceptual design, the owners felt that the modern style was too stark. For this reason the owners introduced the Italian designer, Michela Reverberi to the Quinta Essentia project with a brief to make the atmosphere more intimate. Although the general arrangement and some major details by Freivokh remain (to name just a few the signature bedside tables and the striking atrium and its staircase), Michela created a completely new interior style incorporating the colour palette and atmosphere that met the owners’ taste and wishes.”
Michela Reverberi explains that this project was an interesting challenge, as her starting point was a partially developed design that might have limited the expression of her personal creativity. “I am very pleased with the result of this creative effort that is the perfect synthesis of the owners’ culture, their roots and background and my personal taste and design style. The inspiration for my work was ‘Quinta Essentia’ – the fifth element – which is the highest synthesis of the four elements. These four elements – Earth, Water, Air and Fire – are represented in the four guests’ cabins, while the owners’ suite synthesizes them all. The theme is integrated in the design thanks to details, colors, patterns which are displayed against an absolute and pure white background. Their presence is subtle and discrete. For the owners’ stateroom I chose the colour silver, which reflects all the other elements, and therefore encompasses them all.”
Luxury motor yacht Quinta Essentia’s design offers some notably luxurious features, such as the largest owners’ stateroom seen on any of Heesen’s yachts, which has been a personal input of the owner. In size it is comparable to those found on yachts of over 80 metres, while she is also the first in the Heesen fleet to sport a tender bay that can be flooded to allow easy launching and recovery of the tenders, and a swimming pool on the main deck that is filled by a waterfall. The gym and spa facilities, including a steam room and a massage room, play a key role on the sun deck.
Quinta Essentia charter yacht will be delivered to her owners towards the end of May, following intensive sea trials in the North Sea. She will be available for charter through the Monaco office of Nakhimov Yachts.
