A new Castel Volturno Marina in Southern Italy has begun construction. When complete, the new superyacht marina will provide 1,270 berths including 25 superyacht spaces. Castel Volturno Marina is 35km northwest of Naples and is due to be completed date in 2014.
Of the 1,270 yacht berths being developed at the new Castel Volturno Marina, 118 are for boats from 21m-25m (69ft-82ft) and 25 spaces will be reserved for are for superyachts.
The marina will cover an area of 756,500m2, and is reported to be worth an investment of €143m. The company Marina di Pinetamare is funding the marina project and has a concession to manage the port for 57 years.
The project’s financing was decided upon in 2003. The mayor of Castel Volturno, Antonio Scalzone, told Italian newspapers “It’s the most important investment for the province of Caserta in the last 20 years,”
The marina will feature boat repair, sales and dry storage services in addition to facilities for ferries to nearby islands and 2,500 carparking spaces.
When completed, the new superyacht marina in Castel Volturno Marina will provide extra berths for sailing yachts, motor yachts and superyachts who visit the area on their Italian yacht charters.
