On Thursday 4th August, marine exhaust manufacturer Halyard (M&I) Ltd was sold to Aegeus Marine Limited, a family business. James Grazebrook, the founder of Halyard, will continue working as Chairman. Richard Summers of Aegeus Marine will join Halyard as Managing Director. The rest of Halyard’s management team will remain unchanged.
Announcing the sale, James Grazebrook said “This is a wonderful opportunity for Halyard as it will ensure a smooth succession for the company. I have come to know Richard well over the last few months. He brings a background in manufacturing and a twin focus on engineering excellence and customer service. I believe Richard joining as MD, and ownership by Aegeus, will deliver a bright long term future for Halyard.”
Richard commented “Halyard has outstanding expertise with marine exhaust systems. Social pressures and upcoming emissions regulations are going to make this a challenging time for the marine industry. Halyard has made good progress on tackling these issues with Puregen, and I am looking forward to working with the team to do more to help our customers. James is a huge asset to the business and having him stay on for two years is a real bonus.”
