VSY – Viareggio Superyachts Italian motor yacht builder responsible for the creation of such stunning vessels the 62m Candyscape II charter yacht and the 72.10m motor yacht Stella Maris, believes that the best expression of luxury and comfort is achieved in the highest respect for the marine environment on all fronts. VSY takes this seriously and thus is proud to be the recipient of strict and prestigious certifications such as the RINA GreenStar Plus Gold, ABS ES (Environment Safety) and Lloyd’s EP (Environmental Protection).
The long list of features and care they put into their Total Eco-Yachts is impressive:
• wide use of recyclable materials
• redundancy also for the system of water treatment able to produce biologically transparent and odourless discharges running on 2 units
• electric auxiliary engines for use in harbour and wherever it is advisable to avoid running of the main engine, resulting in a vastly reduced environmental impact, especially in terms of noise
• a Green Anchoring system to station the yacht by dynamic positioning in those areas where traditional anchoring is forbidden because potentially damaging, for example, to coral reefs and Scandinavian fjords
• installation of last generation particle filters for the highest possible smoke reduction in the exhaust system
• recycling of the heat from the generator exhausts to produce hot water on board
• study and definition of an eco-productive maintenance system for continuous integrated monitoring (extended to post-delivery) of the eco-systems and appliances installed, providing also a dedicated ergonomic training software platform for the manning of the yacht.
This results in a simple but effective formula: Maximum Efficiency on Minimum Energy – without damage to the eco-system.
All of this is in pursuit of VSY’S essential mission: to produce a few but exclusive super-yachts, totally custom-built, innovative and technologically superlative. Simply unique yachts which fully embrace the yard’s Eco Green vision, introducing the new and exclusive concept of “deeper luxury”.
The commitment of VSY to respect the environment on all fronts goes even beyond building Total Eco Yachts. “VSY go cycling in Monaco” and “Because Forests Matter” are other simple contributions to make a better world for ourselves and next generations.
“VSY go cycling in Monaco”
The personalized VSY-Viareggio Superyachts bicycles did not go unnoticed during the recent Monaco Boat Show. By now we know the enormous amount of care and long check-list of methods and features that the Viareggio Superyachts puts into their Total Eco-Yachts. True to form, VSY joined pleasure and eco-sustainability by using their own bicycles to move around Monaco during the Yacht Show. A simple idea that reinforces the yard’s Eco-Green vision and offers a small contribution towards the improvement of the quality of life for ourselves and future generations.
“Because Forests Matter”
VSY’s commitment to respect the environment on all fronts goes even beyond building Total EcoYachts, obtaining rigorous and prestigious international Certifications like Rina Green Star Plus Gold and ABS ES (Environment Safety).
They are aware that half of the timber harvested worldwide is used to make paper. So it is vital that everyone makes a commitment to the responsible use of the world’s resources. For this reason, to print the VSY brand-new double LP-size brochure – reminiscent of the old vinyl record sleeves – they have selected a special eco-friendly paper certified by FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) – Mixed Sources. This label ensures that the timber or fibre in the product comes from responsibly harvested and verified sources, which exclude unacceptable forestry.
FSC certification is a voluntary, market-based tool that supports responsible forest management worldwide. FSC certified forest products are verified from the forest of origin through the supply chain.
A small contribution to make a better world for present and future generations and Viareggio Superyachts‘ way to celebrate and support the International Year of Forests.
