Reichel Pugh Yacht Design is working on a new 35m classic racing sailing yacht Classic Racer 115. Its enginnering team will try to offer a complete composite/metal structural design analysis and solutions. Despite being well-known for its modern designs, a new 35m Classic Racer 115 superyacht will be a mix of a bygone era classical elegance as for her exterior, and a modern interior, with very clean lines and a low profile yet dominating deckhouse.
The new 35m modern classic Reichel Pugh luxury yacht Classic Racer 115 will have the teak covered deck, simply laid out for ease of sail handling, with all the winches push button and hydraulically powered. The rig is specified as carbon
with swept back spreaders and non-overlapping jibs for ease of handling. The elegant teak decks will have classic lines, while keeping her racing functionality. With a spacious main saloon featuring padded seating areas on port and starboard, enclosed hear and separate shower forward, a twin navigation station on the port side aft of the main saloon and a galley on the starboard side aft, this 35m Classic Racer 115 racing superyacht will become very comfortable.
Reichel Pugh 35m racing super yacht Classic Racer 115 will present simple but sophisticated design effort, with a flexibility in the option whether to build the yacht either in composite or alloy materials, with an option for a fixed or lifting keel, depending on the owner´s wish. Her construction scantlings will be created according to the latest ISAF Offshore Special Regulation Category “1” requirements, with Plan Approval services to be provided by Germanischer Lloyd.
The fusion of all these elements creates a yacht that uses cutting edge technology in all its components making it visually stunning and complementing outstanding sailing performance with ease of handling.
The project follows in the success achieved by Reichel/Pugh over the years in developing and optimizing classic yachts for performance.
In 2000 Reichel/Pugh Yacht Design worked as the Naval Architect to recreate the 1937 sailing yacht Starling Burgess and Olin Stevens designed J Class charter yacht Ranger for John Williams that was built by Danish Yachts and launched in early 2004.
Reichel/Pugh was the co-naval architect with Dijkstra & Partners on the 180’ Panamax Classic Ketch, the sailing yacht Hetairos built of high tech composites and recently launched (2011) by Baltic Yachts, Finland. On the Hetairos project Reichel/Pugh was responsible for the creation and development of the hull lines and appendages.
