As the China’s largest in-water boat show, the Hainan Rendez-Vous is the first event to win the trust of prestigious shipyards exhibiting the largest luxury yachts ever displayed in the country. Almost all the world’s extraordinary megayacht brands were present at Hainan Rendez-Vous last year, and they are all coming back for the 2012 show.
Experts estimate the Asian megayacht market will eventually see $350-$500 million USD in annual sales, and these sales imply creation of tens of thousands of jobs across the world.
Here are just some of the graceful 40+ metre yachts visitors will see dropping their anchor in Sanya’s waters for the Hainan Rendez-Vous show. Among them the following vessels of distinction:
Helix
Launched just last August by Dutch shipyard Feadship, the motor yacht Helix is 44.65-metres long and has a beam (largest width) of 9.2 metres. Unlike most megayachts, both the cabins and owner’s master suite are located on the main deck, making it great for family voyages. The owner can go to sleep gazing at the stars through a huge skylight over his plush king-sized bed.
Northern Sun
The 50m luxury yacht Northern Sun was originally a marine research vessel used for scientific expeditions in the seas off Japan. From 2005-2009 she was converted into a luxury yacht.
Lohengrin
Built by U.S. shipyard Trinity, the charter yacht Lohengrin is a 49-metre vessel that has five spacious mahogany-detailed staterooms with marble baths. The master stateroom has enormous windows that let the owner wake up to a 180 degree view of the sea, as well as his and her baths with whirlpool tub and heated inlaid marble floors. An extendable, 14-foot platform at the stern can be used for swimming, dining or parking jet skis.
